[[bind]] //<key sequence>// reset_line //<new text>//

======Description:======
This binding replaces the current contents of the input line with the 
//<new text>//.  The //<new text>// is treated as though it were passed
through [[xtype]] -l.

This operation does not change the cutbuffer.  The previous contents of the
input line are not saved anywhere.
